Terms of Service

Welcome to Rent-A-Charge. By accessing our website, using our power bank rental services, or interacting with our charging stations, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Definitions

  • "Rent-A-Charge" refers to the power bank rental service operated by Arcane Innovations PTY(LTD).
  • "Station" refers to a Rent-A-Charge charging kiosk or unit located at a venue.
  • "Power Bank" refers to the portable battery charger rented from a Station.
  • "User," "You," or "Your" refers to any individual using our services.
  • "Venue Partner" refers to a business that hosts a Rent-A-Charge Station on its premises.

2. Service Description

Rent-A-Charge provides portable power bank rental services through self-service Stations at participating venues. Users scan a QR code, complete the rental process, and unlock a power bank for use. Power banks must be returned to the same Station from which they were rented.

3. User Responsibilities

By using our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during the rental process.
  • Use power banks responsibly and for their intended purpose.
  • Return the power bank to the same Station before leaving the venue.
  • Not damage, tamper with, or attempt to disassemble any Rent-A-Charge equipment.
  • Not use our services for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.
  • Be responsible for any loss or damage to the power bank while in your possession, subject to applicable fees.

4. Rental Fees & Payment

  • Rental fees are displayed at the point of rental and vary by venue.
  • Payment is processed through the mobile payment method selected when scanning the QR code.
  • Late return or non-return of power banks may result in additional charges.
  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

5. Venue Partners

Venues hosting Rent-A-Charge Stations are independent businesses. We are not responsible for the actions, policies, or services of venue partners. Disputes related to the venue experience should be directed to the venue directly.

6. Advertising

Advertisers using Rent-A-Charge Station screens agree to comply with all applicable advertising standards and regulations. We reserve the right to reject or remove advertising content at our discretion.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, logos, trademarks, and design elements associated with Rent-A-Charge are the intellectual property of Arcane Innovations PTY(LTD). You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rent-A-Charge and Arcane Innovations PTY(LTD) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to:

  • Device damage caused by power bank usage.
  • Loss of data or business interruption.
  • Service unavailability or station downtime.
  • Acts or omissions of venue partners.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rent-A-Charge and Arcane Innovations PTY(LTD), its affiliates, officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from your use of our services or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to our services at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any violation of these Terms or for any other reason.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

13. Changes To These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
